P.A.W.S. Program
Parents Actively Working with St. Charles
The assistance of parent volunteers is vital to the success of our efforts to achieve our mission at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School. A key component in implementing our mission is to offer programs, events and opportunities to enhance the overall school experience for our students. The P.A.W.S. Program was created to ensure adequate volunteer coverage, to effectively utilize our community's talents, and to track service hours for each family. Specifics of the P.A.W.S. Program include:

Twenty (20) hours of service per family are required each school year.

A minimum of two (2) hours of service is requested during Fall Festival in November. These hours are included in the total.

Each family will be asked to sign a commitment agreement at the time of registration declaring their intention to fulfill P.A.W.S. hours.

Bishop Moore Students volunteering at St. Charles have an option to either apply their hours to Community Service for Bishop Moore or P.A.W.S for St. Charles - NOT BOTH

Hours are tracked via computer located in Student Services Office.

Parents will be updated of their P.A.W.S. Program commitment at the beginning of the second semester.

Individuals who work off-site hours are responsible to report their hours to the appropriate committee chairperson. The committee chairperson will then send the hours into the PAWS email: paws@stcharles-orlando.org Attention Julie Wright, PAWS coordinator.

Hours not completed by last day of school will be assessed at the rate of $10 per hour.

Families that register mid-year will have their hours pro-rated.

Monies received for hours not completed will be used to benefit St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School.

Changes to the P.A.W.S. Program will be administered through the School Board.

Those families needing special consideration in fulfilling service hours should submit a Special Consideration Form to the principal as soon as the need is recognized but no later than March 1. Special Consideration Forms are available from the school office.
Our goal for the P.A.W.S. Program is to increase family involvement. It is not our intent for this program to be a source of revenue for St. Charles School.
