St. Charles curriculum exposes each child to fine arts beginning at the PreKindergarten level.  Our Kindergarten through fourth grade students meet once a week for 40 minutes.  They are given the opportunity to draw, make 3-D projects, learn art history, assemble a variety of crafts, and work with new tools.  Our fifth grade students meet twice a week for 40 minutes and our sixth, seventh and eighth grade students meet once a week for 40 minutes.  Middle School students receive art history reflecting the time period they are studying.  APEX program offers a variety of art classes to choose from:  drawing, painting, water color, crafts, calligraphy, mosaics, stained glass, print making, photography, and ceramics.

St. Charles' art teacher, Su D'Alessio, began her teaching career in 1971; in 2002 she accepted a full time teaching position. Her motto is, "Art is always a learning experience".  A student's individuality and personal growth are key to learning art at St. Charles. Mrs. D'Alessio's web page can be accessed from our home page by clicking on "faculty/staff."
